Chinese in New York

While pursuing his masters degree in digital photography at SVA in NY, Chinese artist Shaoyi Zhang realized there were many stereotypical images and labels being put on Chinese immigrants.

He decided to take a series of photographs featuring Chinese and Chinese-Americans living and working in NY. The photos were taken to challenge the stereotypes and encourage a call to action.
