Dancing Fire and Musical Swings

Beat the heat- or join it! On this episode, we’re checking out some amazing summertime activities that are as hot as the season! First, we visit Floasis in Bushwick, a flow arts and fire center that’s offering fire spinning classes.

Over the course of 6 weeks, beginner level students learn how to spin props or staffs. On their final day of class, they graduate when they light their products on fire.

Here I was thinking that the only fire I’d be around this summer was a campfire! Watching the graduation was beautiful and moving. And I was super impressed by the all of the student’s hard work. These guys are going to light up the city- one staff at a time!

Next, I head over to the Financial District for a nostalgic twist on summer fun!
