Gao Shan – The Road Not Taken

Gao Shan studied Journalism and Communications at Peking University, but her true passion was always tied to music. After helping a friend with a soundtrack for a student film, she began to delve into the world of singing and songwriting.

She moved to New York, a city of musical inspiration, to study songwriting at NYU.
After landing in America, she learned that some of her early work had reached the top of several Chinese musical charts, partly due to the exposure of being used on a popular television show, You Are My Sunshine.

Although Gao Shan was tempted with several offers to sign with record labels, Shan decided to stay in New York to hone her skills and build up experience before launching her career in music.
