One Hand Clapping

China has long been sensationalized by western media as the future of the world yet this future has often been portrayed as monstrous, and measured only by its rapid economic and technological growth.

Determined to challenge people's perceptions of a global, homogeneous and technocratic future, curators Weng Xiaoyu and Hou Hanru presented newly commission works by Cao fei, Duan Jianyu, Lin Yilin, Wong Ping, and Samson Young in the Robert H.N. Ho family foundation Chinese art initiative "One Hand Clapping"

Using new and traditional mediums ranging from Virtual reality to oil on canvas, the works don't present a visual of what the future could be like. instead, they explore the question of where humanity will go in the future...
