Sit Down Interview with Independent Curator Xie Xiaojuan

After graduating from Beijing technology and business university with a major in advertising design, Xie Xiaojuan didn’t end up working in advertising; instead, she chose to pursue her dream of being a curator.

After working at commercial galleries and world renowned auction house, Christie’s in Beijing, xie xiaojuan honed her curatorial skills as well as learn about art markets

In 2014, she came to the U.S. for a master’s program in art management. While In New York, she attended classes, lectures and exhibitions featuring western abstract art which inspired her to conduct research on their Chinese counterparts

On this topic, she worked as an independent curator, she brought Chinese abstract painters Mengdi Cheng, Hao Xu and Sun Liangang’s works of art to Barcelona International art fair and Venice Biennale respectively.
