Sit Down with In Transit’s Telly Leung

The son of Chinese immigrants, Telly Leung fell in love with musical theater at a young age.

Leung studied acting at Carnegie Mellon University's School of Drama. He made his Broadway debut in the revival of Flower Drum Song in 2002, and since then he's performed in shwos such as Pacific Overtures, Wicked, Godspell, Rent, and Allegiance.

Now, he is back on Broadway, playing Steven in In Transit, a musical about the challenges of life in New York City.

Telly Leung brings a piece of himself to the character, who is a gay man about to embark on a trip home with his partner to reveal to his future mother-in-law that he and his fiancé are not roommates, but lovers. In Transit is playing at Circle in the Square Theatre in NYC.
